About Me
I’m a 33 year-old mother, interaction designer and newbie urban gardener living in a townhouse in the D.C. suburb of Oakton, VA.
I learned about peak oil last year and have been feeling a bit panicky ever since. This blog signals the manifestation of my panic turning into action. I’m climbing out of debt and can’t afford to build a passive house right now, not within commuting distance of the jobs that sustain us, anyway. But by golly, I can learn how to grow some grub, even in a townhouse. I’m going to document my trials and tribulations of townhouse farming in the hopes that you will be inspired, feel a little less despair, and hopefully learn something – even if it is only how not to farm a townhouse.
